My gp32 FLU has a little piece of dust on the inside to the protector screen. How do I take off the cover safely or just lift it up enough to use an air blower (have one, use it for areo-bed lol) to get it out? And, if I weere to buy a replacemtn protector screen from, let's say, gbax.com, by putting on that new screen effect my front light??? Please reply. Thanks.
PS: dont ask how the dust gto in there I have no clue.

If you have a flu do not open it. Believe me. And dust collects in all flu's and more will and the is no way to stop it . That is one of the reasons I'm getting a blu aswell.

[Mod - That's a good warning, but yes, there is a way to stop it, if you're careful. Keep reading.]

He doesnt actually own a BLU so you'd be better off asking someone who does. There's loads of pics of the blu about though.

Piece of piss then

jimmy open the grey rectangle around the screen, use a screw driver and lever it open (a flathead, the thinner the better)

lift it up (be careful so u dont make huge marks on the outside of the gp32

Spray sum water around to get rid of air

lift the screen of carefuly with a screw driver, grav a CLEAN pair of cotton boxer and gently GENTLY just touch (dont even do that HOVER) the screen to pick up the dust, from a distance keep blowing to stop anymore comming in and then stick the screen back, and hey presto uve done it

If u put too much pressure on the LCD it will cause black blotches that may not fade, so be gently

and BE BALLSY, if u decide half way thru u dont wanna do it, u'll just make mistakes

You CAN get rid of the dust, and keep it that way.

I have a fairly new GP32 from around Christmas, and there has been no dust whatsoever, but if you want to, you can seal the gap between the grey edge with some hot glue or something. That should solve the dust problem, and if you wish to open you GP32 again, just slip the glue off. :)

magoo's not daft. - but he is right.

The reason you need to be EXTRA careful with a flu is because the light guide (an extra screen between the protective cover and the LCD of your FLU) is about as strong as tissue paper and scratches and attracts dust far too easily.

It also has the added bonus of being impossible to replace. So if this goes even slightly wrong your frontlight becames useless. (no pressure!)

If you are determined to take the front plastic screen off your flu you need a very dust free environment - Thats why before you open the thing up you need to spray water around in the room you arre going to be working in. The water will get most of the dust out of the air.

Personally I wouldn't touch this with a bargepole - but then I'm impressively kak-handed at this sort of thing and I still wake up from nightmares about that afterburner that I tried to fit in to my GBA over a year ago ....
