That was kind of what I was imagining with the time limit - except the monster would simply refuse to load until it got home. Same principle though, I guess...

What kind of music did you have in mind ??
.. and which format (mod, wav, ???) ??

hope it comes out as good as it sounds, i'll be getting my first gp32_console in a few weeks as well, hopefully in time for a pu8blic beta!

Do as he said and if you're interested in beta-testing email him and give him details on what you can help him with and your gp32x handle etc.

Not sure about audio yet, the sound effects will be wav to begin with. music will probably be ogg or mp3, if thats the case i will try to allow custom sound-tracks. depends how much CPU i have left once the engine is done.

I love the ideas around using the PDUID and I had a further suggestion...

How about making the first release of the game generate the pets attributes (strength, intelligence, stamina - the RPG usual stuff) from the PDUID then we could have online tournaments where most of the pets will have different skills from birth and also will be trained in a certain way.

This would probably have limited appeal but good for an initial release, then you could add a function to roll your own attributes on a later release....

Also wondered if you could have an auto-generating name for your pet but I reckon people would dig naming their own better

Cool that your still continuing Gigas :D Also love the idea that you can upload files and get your monsters to beat the snot out of each other against other GP32x'ers. :D
