sterm just gives a black screen here. Are you sure, I don't need some other file(s)?

Thanks!

EDIT: It worked, after I installed the SDL libs.

That's awesome! Really very nice to use considering there's no keyboard!

Thanks jochang! You rock! :D

Is there a way to execute a command with this via shell script, like:

#!/bin/sh
# start python, but through STerm
/mnt/sd/utils/terminal.gpu -c /mnt/sd/python/python

cd /usr/gp2x
exec /usr/gp2x/gp2xmenu

This would make it easy to launch the python shell via utilities.

so, has anyone checked out the init levels? Is there any level that could be reduced by for example removing some of the networking demons that are being run?

Is Sterm functional enough to use vi? I find it very tedious to use but maybe I just don't know how to use vi properly.

I'm a newbie at the terminal, and vi. I had to download a vi clone for Windows, and learn how to use that before I could get it to work for me on the GP2X. It's awkward, but it does work. :D

STERM ROCKS!

But I can't move the curser left and right, even in insert mode. It makes no sense to me.

You "type" the letter l to move left. Don't remember if r was right, or just replace single character. Like I said, awkward. But if you find a full list of commands, you can get it to work on the GP2X.

I use vi every day, I think it's a great editor for working with code or any other sort of text. Most editors have moved away from being 'modal' like vi over the last 20 years so maybe that's why it seems awkward.
