Ok. I've tried the supplied kernel and the USB kernel. I load the .gpu and it just blanks out for a second and goes back to the menu. This is how I'm flashing the kernel (please correct me if this is wrong): I'm placing the .img file in the root of the SD card and rebooting the gp2x. I don't see a "flashing gp2x" message like the official firmware releases but it does pause for a second. Also, is there a specific directory that this needs to be in? Please help me with this if you can, I used to have a zaurus and it would be awesome to run this on the gp2x. Thank you.

use the latest version (which contains kernel image with network support)

http://gp2mania.com/...&desc=asc&no=53

and yes, NK is using usb mouse, keyboard, and wireless lancard
with usbhost. (http://wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/USB_Host)

I did use the latest version. How can I tell if my gp2x was flashed with the network support kernel? Is there a config or module I can look for to see if it flashed correctly. So, what you are saying, is if I place the gp2xkernel.img on the root of my sd and copy the other three files over to a folder and launch the provided .gpu I shouldn't have any issues? Becuase currently it just blinks to a black screen for a second and then back to the menu.

EDIT: Nevermind. I tried it again and it worked. I think there is something wrong with the memory card reader/writer that I use at work.. because I copied the exact same files, the same way and this time it worked. Thanks for your help!

This is so cool. This should have been entered in the coding comp.
It's too bad the gp2x doesn't have an internal battery to save the time and date settings.

How do you get the network to work? Does it require a serial cable?

i guess the included qtopia kernel is based on the
usbnet kernel http://archive.gp2x....?0,0,0,0,8,1285
so one can have the pc as a gateway to the web via the usbcable.

havn't tried networking yet.
i'm waiting for the gph breakout-box and a wifi-stick.

cheers

i just extract a game for the zaurus... (was in ipk format, the package format of the zaurus) it worked but couldnt find the graphics, which was sure since i didnt copied them to the right direction, they should be in /opt/QTpalm/.......
would be nice if someone could port the package installer...

I extracted an othello game and other than screen size issues, it worked fine. Here is a site where everyone can test out the ipk files: http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus. Just use win rar to extract the IPK file under windows.

Oh my. This is just the greatest thing ever.
QTopia + CramFS will be great in the future.

This thing truly brings 100x more power to the device.

yes, as you see in screenshot, NK is surfing in opera.

this release supports zd1211 chipset wireless usb lancard.
(you can download driver in http://zd1211.ath.cx/)

you may have to use external power supply with usbhost.
(lancard need more power consumption than keyboard or mouses.)

NK is using self-made usbhost circuit with power adaptor, too.
