Opteka Charger with 4 - 2700mah AA batteries: $19.95 (includes car charger)

These batteries have been good for me. They seem to last a long time, but I haven't really had anything to compare to.

I checked the UK deals there for the Viking cards, and then I checked the compatibility list... But here's the question. From what I understand, the Viking card will not work for upgrading the firmware, but what if I want to use it to just use as normal? You know, storing and running videos and games on my GP2X? Bare in mind, I'm still on the first firmware and only plan on upgrading if it's absolutely essential...

It'll work fine for everything else. It might even work for flashing if you are lucky. It's kind of hit and miss.

btw, could you edit your post to remove the quote? It's rather big and unnecessary. Cheers.

Viking cards are hit and miss (and also very cheap) because they are surplus stock from other brands. Mine was a Toshiba 1GB, which works well for flashing. Peel off the Viking sticker to find out what YOURS is!

I went to Target.com to find some decent rechargeable batteries (I know, it would be the last place to look.)

Well, I saw that they had Energizer 2300mAh 8-pack for 20 bucks. (Just saw the picture.)

Great, I thought.

I go to the store, and to my dismay, they do not have them... but upon further looking (in their electronics section), they have the 2500mAh versions. They seem to have discontinued the 2300 variant.

Energizer Rechargeable - AA - 2500mAh - 8-Pack - $19.99US
http://www.target.co...asin=B0002DUQCM

[Yes, the picture says 2300mAh, but they no longer carry that version]

I have a standard RadioShack 4-port Ni-CD and Ni-MH 1-hr charger (and another charger - so I can charge ALL of it at the same time).

Played about an our of SNES/Genesis, and left it idle while playing video for another hour - and played some music... it is still Medium/Full charge.

Excellent bargain, if you ask me.
