Now if someone would just take the time to make it say: "Gaaame Paaark..." ^_^ Maybe with a grunt that says "holdings" that'd be cool. ^_^

Lmao! I'll see if I can... :D

I doubt that you can brick your gp2x doing this, it doesn't touch other files except for the wav file

Is there any possible way (different firmware?) to use longer samples (Say, up to 7 seconds for the Neo-Geo boot up jingle :D )?

Not sure if this is of any use, but I have very quickly knocked up some startup sounds. Quality isn't superb, just playing really:

Have fun :)

cool ideas

-the guy saying 'resident evil..' whenever you start a game which sounds pretty cool (I like the RE:CV one)
-the classic chime in LoZ games when you solve a puzzle.

Compatibility for startup-sounds=must be less than 2.7 seconds.

Can't do any of those sounds however, but I just wanted to let you know

That's a bummer :[ I've been trying to get the "success" tune from FF7 to work, but it's about 4 seconds long. I wouldn't be suprised if this length restriction can be changed in the boot or kernel source.
