Here is some small video I rendered... keep in mind that it's still preview, it's not the actual model (and the keyboard is just a preview and doesn't have anything to do with the real keyboard wink.gif)

Video on YouTube

Video in Pandora Resolution (800x480) as xVid

Enjoy smile.gif

lol... it's a bit over the top to be honest wink.gif

And mentioning the dual SD slots as the first feature seems a bit odd as it is at best a "nice to have" feature and not a "wow" one.

Oh and the 3D model doesn't really work in such close up shots to be honest.

Looks good ED. The text and music may be a little on the dramatic side, but the render video is great.

Thanks for making it smile.gif

Love the dramatic music like a Hollywood movie. But you can make that pandora seems more powerish.

Video looks great. When clicking the tread I was really hoping for some video of the unit in real life though rolleyes.gif . Maybe thats just a few weeks away?

I would disagree to the dual SD slots not being a "wow" factor but this is probably not the place.

To be honest, I'd be talking about the 3D capabilities as one of the major selling points.

Very nice visually. If you were to do another version, here would be my suggestions:

- Lose the Hollywood feel (I was waiting for it to say "THIS SUMMER...") smile.gif
- Start out kind of cryptically - imply that it's something like an eeePC on steroids. You don't want to reference the Asus directly of course. Don't reveal the size of it yet.
- The first information (visual & text) should focus on gaming. You might be able to use closeups of the analog sticks etc, without giving away too much.
- Next, go into some wider software functionality (perhaps mentioning a custom Linux distro would say enough).
- List the key hardware/connectivity features.
- Finally, the reveal. Anyone who is drooling already at the thought of a gaming-focused laptop will be knocked for six when they see Pandora's DS-like proportions.
- ???
- Profit.

I realise you have very limited visual material to work with of course! Anyway, I hope you take all this as more constructive than critical. smile.gif

Keep it simple for the average non-Linux user though.

And get some cool 3D game footage, with pandora-level graphics, and make it run in the screen tongue.gif Something like Quake 2 would probably be good enough, and better yet, it's realistic. While you're at it could also throw in some PS1 games and whatnot.

Show some seconds of a game running and buttons being pressed, I think that counts a lot more than just a static fly-by tongue.gif

Hmm... ED, that would be very, very illegal... and probably dangerous! Seriously. tongue.gif

One thing I would consider doing - make it very clear that the size is comparable to a DS.

I have a feeling some people will assume it's bigger than it really is.

I think a lot of people mistakenly think it's big and bulky. Once some photos come out that will probably change. Still, you could do something really cheeky with the DS comparison...

- Start with a shot of a DS
- Someone slides the DS stylus out as if they're about to play it.
- Pan to the right where a Pandora sits on the table.
- The person opens the Pandora and clicks a few menu items with the DS stylus, before putting it down and whipping out the Pandora stylus. They launch a sexy 3D game and start using the dual analogs.

Size comparison & pwnage rolled into one.

Many, many people are - we need to get the size comparison renders more noticed.

Maybe need to render it next to a CD, I don't know if Floppies are a known quantity any longer.

Or better yet set it on a PC keyboard/mouse.

Yes, number one and two "comments":

1. hate keyboard

2. Thumbsticks uncomfortable (clearly these people don't understand the size, I held my GP2X as if there were analog sliders in the screen and it felt plenty natural.)

I think the hugely powerful GPU(compared to other handhelds?) should probably be the main feature. Next up, the hugely powerful CPU.

And then the great battery life....then the size...in case they somehow missed it.

Then other stuff? wink.gif Things like the dual SDHC ports are pretty obvious in that render. They don't really need to be mentioned, since you pan by them slowly.
