As far as I'm aware the only difference is that you don't tilt but instead slide it.

My idea is something like that of a ball point pen you write with ,you click it down to release the tip.

Ah, you mean erect nipples retractable nubs? They would have to be connected to the hinge somehow to protect you from destroying your screen when closing the shell without clipping the nubs in.
