DD-MM-YYYY: Even sillier than MM-DD-YYYY? Neither of them sort properly like YYYY-MM-DD does.
And where do bra size jokes fit into all this??

MM-DD-YYYY is just another way the USA chooses to be incompatible with the rest of the world. Yes, the international standard is YYYY-MM-DD, but most (almost all) nations use DD-MM-YYYY.

Just like I have no time for imperial measurements, I have no time for MM-DD-YYYY.

Day: Month: Year: seems a lot more logical to me than the other ways. I say 5th February 2010. I don't often say February 5th 2010 (Although some people do), and I never say 2010 February 5th.

EDIT: My apologies for going off topic

DD:MM:YYYY and YYYY:MM:DD at least have some coherent hierarchy. MM:DD:YYYY is just crap.

Specifying the year first narrows the range to 52 Weeks. Then the month reduces it to 30 days. Then the date nails it. It's logical, just not very Human.

I deal with databases, so the DD-MM-YYYY kinda makes sense to me. The smallest increment of the calendar to the largest.

YYYY-MM-DD is the most logical, because you can then sort dates as a single number.

I think it depends on how you're using it.

You could argue that what changes most often is the day, so for short term stuff (like planning something next week), making DD-MM-YYYY the most logical. You already know the month and the year...

In terms of human communication and therefore how it's displayed I believe that DD-MM-YYYY to be the best.
If you only say the 15th, then the current month and year is assumed.
If you need to stipulate the month then you say 15th May, so on.
It may be logical to store it in the backend as YYYYMMDD but I don't think it's logical for it to be displayed that way, as most people don't speak to each other that way.
Sorry for OT.

Would've been nice before the weekend, but won't happen sadly.

It might bounce back to Friday once it hits the US border (Alaska). These China shipments change the delivery date once or twice along the route every time. Sometimes they change back to the original delivery date, sometimes they don't. We'll know by tonight.

Oh, I'm sure he'll be fine once he downs a bottle or two of vodka... ;)

Here's hoping for the 5th, though!
