I've just compiled GP2X version of gpSP, it has all fixes from Wiz version + software scaler as a bonus. The later causes more noticeable performance hit then on Wiz, but is still usable for some games with some overclock. I've also bundled it with RAM timings setting app, I don't think everyone was setting their RAM timings manually.

download here

I'm interested how much emu oriented GP2X users we still have, if you are going to use this please post in this thread.

Oh wow. This I need to check out. I've been using the F200 quite a bit recently so being able to check out GBA emulation - new GBA emulation is a big bonus.

I will be using it. Can't you monitor the number of downloads as an accurate way of figuring out how many users there are? I use my gp2x for a good mix of emulation and homebrew.

Awesome! Great to see GPSP is still getting updated on the GP2X, keep up the spectacular work Notaz.

Gonna give it a whirl and reading the other posts, looks like it's getting even better. biggrin.gif

Heck yeah! I'm still strong on the GP2X. None of its replacements caught my attention yet. So yes, keep them coming!

Thanks a lot for yet another great release!

Finally got round to try it and it is noticably quicker than the previous version. Many thanks for all your hard work Notaz. :)

Well, I use a lot of emus on my F200 but Gpsp not so much. I have a GBA with a SuperCard so playing games on other devices is a moot point. I do appreciate the work and agree that the updated release is a boon for the GP2X community.

I have just tried it with some of my favourite games and all I can say is that it is awesome ! Software scaler looks like a dream , and it wasn't much of a performance problems as I was afraid , at least for the games I tried. It is especially best for games where there is lots of text to read. Gpsp can become my favourite emu again in following days , head to head with fba2x and gngeo2x ;)

Just wondering , can something like fullscreen (software) may be possible ?

Thanks very much to everyone who contributed this excellent piece of software !!

In my (not so) humble opinion, playing games via emulators on the gp2x is better than the real thing largely because of the ability to save states. I really like the ability to save state my way through levels or portions of a game which I find too hard or boring because I have to play it over and over and over and on a real machine I would just give up. I wish it was faster but it's still better than the real thing.

Having a flash cart and the real hardware is all well and good, and I have one for both GBA and DS. However, unless you want to carry around 2 pieces of hardware, a GBA emulator is most definitely not moot.
