I just compiled g_ether.ko from the proper FW 1.2.1 kernel source, and it works! I put the module up here. Just replace g_ether.ko in the USB-Network package and it should work.
thx man! it really works
i just tested it on winXP, i get an 'Ethernet Gadget'-found-select-drivers-to-install window.
i couldn't find any drivers for win.
so i booted up ubuntu 10.04 in virtualbox 4, attached the usb device, and it worked
i installed dropbear on the wiz and was able to login via ssh
when i got more time i'm going to play around with it a bit
ciao

This would be the "go" for me to finally upgrade.
If I have issues with my wifi stick I can still fall back on the ethernet gadget until that is solved.
EDIT:
Sorry, my manners...
Thankx, hmn, great work!

Cool, thanks.

i just completed the "UPGRAGE"to 1.2.6, and the g_ether module still works. GO!

go go gadgeto ethernet!![]()
I'll go for it after my return from my next trip. Wouldn't take any risk before that.
Nice side effect: The Animatch high scores will be cleared.

Do you mean the built-in 1.2.6 g_ether module, or the 1.2.1 rebuild posted before?
