A quick, totally unsupported PND of Cpasjuste's MAME 106 build:

http://www.cosam.org/computers/pandora/mame106.pnd.zip

Works pretty well, some sound issues (occasional buzzing).
The "2x Scale" option is good for horizontally oriented games.

Many thanks for this - great work. :D (I use this version on my main computer, so I'm very happy to see this!)

Since this was asked in another thread recently, I'd like to repost the output 0.106 gives for what it supports, before it gets asked again. :P This was gotten from my main box, and it's in spoiler tags because it's a lot of text.

Spoiler

Thanks again, Steve.

I installed it on my SD.

My ROMS are on my old GP2X SD that is in slot two.

The emulator loads, but when I select a ROM, it goes back to desktop.

Help!?

Danks,

Link

EDIT: I unzipped the download to my Mac's desktop and copied that .pnd to my SD card Menu directory. Can't get roms to load from either SD card, do they need to be somewhere I'm unaware of?

Are the roms for the right Mame version? I couldn't tell you more other than 'You need the right Mame version roms'

These Mame Roms worked on the GP2x and Dingoo, so I'm not assuming anything.

@ZohnnyG,

Thanks for the heads up.

Its running aok.

In order to get the menu I think you use the Tab button
2ndly you'll use enter to clear out values and use the appropriate key to map.

Default- 5 is to insert coin
1 - 1 player start
P - pause

I held the Pandora button to escape, not sure how to get out just yet.

Hope this helps. The 2XScale doesn't appear to be working yet.
Also, mapping of the keys doesn't save, so you have to constantly go back in and re-enter values every time you change a rom.

Peace, Cannapsules, & MAME.PND

@Skeezix, you're so totally right, I remember it from my GP2X days, like 2 years ago :)

Just played some Crazy Kong (Kongerilla if I remember correctly from the machines when I was a kid). Control is great, it will be much better at 2x scale if it becomes available, it seems a little small on that big screen.

STEVEM U the MAN! Made my day, and its been a bad one.

Yes folks, you need the right version ROMs, or it'll just return you to the GUI. The PND doesn't check for errors but the pnd_run files in /tmp should give you a clue if you're really stuck.

Re: scaling, I've not played with the options a lot. MAME tries to figure out a workable video mode at start-up and scaling may result in no modes being available. In this case you'll also end up back in the GUI. If you want to play with the options, you can mount the PND (e.g. sudo mount -o loop /path/to/mame106.pnd /mnt/foo) and try running it from there.

I did have controls saving at one point, but I think that may have broken after I set $HOME in the PND (skeezix: HOME=. should work, right? Or do I need HOME=`pwd` or similar?).

1) How come cpasjuste didn't wap it up?
2) Hope he's not cross with you for releasing his port?

I would assume he's busy with other stuff. It's already out there on pandorasource.de, so this is really just a packaging job.

3) Upload it :) Do you not have rights? IF not, maybe one of us shoudl start uploading all your pnds, you maniac :) Get rights :)

Yep, this is in the works :-)
