So in addition to what the caanoo can already do, what are the benefits of Mplayer? Does it offer extra resolution support or extra codec support?

Sorry for this silly question, i just want to know what mplayer can really do! Thanks!

i don't know what's compiled into the Caanoo version of mplayer, but mplayer usually plays *anything* you show it :)
this includes many subtitle formats, not only the sick .smi the caanoo player supports (which is btw a very good stuff, plays 480p movies smoothly)

i think i am going to experiement with it a little and come up with a list of what it supports and what its max resolutions are.

use the divx converter and rename the .divx videos to mpg and you are goos to go!
