You need to port this to other platforms :)

+1
(you already know what I do think about your game ;))

Um... what are the controls? ABXY buttons do nothing. Do you just have bombs, and that's it? It seems inevitable that you die pretty soon, since your ammo is so limited. And how do you get points?

It looks really neat in the video, but it is frustrating that I can't get it to work right.

P.S. I also think that the explosion sound effects are a bit too loud compared to the music.

P.P.S. I'm not sure if it's related to this at all, but the Pandora's wifi turned off while I was playing this game; I got some sort of error message that kept trying to pop-up in the background, but I never did get to see what it said because it disappeared when I tried to exit the game to see what it said.

You move with the left nub, and fire with the right. The next update (later today probably) will let you customize it.

About the wifi, a few people have complained about that - I really don't know what could cause it. It does it to me too, but then again, it seems to do it to me no matter what app I'm using every 5 minutes or so, so I'm still not sure that it's connected... :(

Oh, I see! I was moving with the d-pad, didn't even think of using the nubs. (to be honest, moving with the d-pad is really comfortable. Maybe an alternate choice could be using "A" to fire in whichever direction your ship is facing?)

Is there some kind of output file I could catch that might give a hint about what happened with wifi? The weird thing is that it didn't toggle the Pandora's wifi off, but seems to have disconnected me from my network. I checked on my main computer, and the internet still works, so there's no reason it should've done that...

I found this message from the other forums:

I had the same issue running this with wifi enabled, when it looks to input a highscore, it actually seems to be putting this information into the wlan key section instead (can see that you're inputting hidden characters into a window behind the game one).

But I never went into the highscore menu. What I DID do was try pressing various letters on the keyboard while in gameplay because I wasn't sure which buttons to press to get the ship to fire. I think THAT was the moment when the WIFI may have disconnected.

Maybe as a stopgap measure, disable the keyboard and choose your name in the highscore menu via selecting letters one-by-one on the screen?

I forgot to add: you can now customize the controls, and the settings for controls, sfx volume and music volume are saved to a file. :)

lovin this game, man!!! I like the nub controls, actually... gives it a more interesting feel... kind of reminds me of a PSX game who's name I can't remember... was a top-down alien/monster shooter that you controlled the player with the D-pad and the direction you shot with the action buttons (though you only had 8 directions to move or shoot, where THIS gives you more of an analog motion and direction for shooting, which I think is much better) and was VERY gory... I really gotta remember then name of that game so I can get it and re-add it to my PSX collection on my Pandora... but for the life of me, I can't seem to recall it!

I wonder if MTR-GTK, the new network diagnostic tool, could help clear up the wifi issue (I have no idea, honestly).

MACHINE HUNTER was the name of that game!!! google is so cool, sometimes! :P

will remember to toggle wifi off via the menu and see if I still get issues with my wifi. I know that when I am not connected to anything, it attempts to connect while I'm playing the game (when I exit the game, the wifi icon is swirling) so it's actually communicating with the drivers directly and attempting to do stuff... what it's attempting to do is beyond me though.

This is really a classic, great, Pandora game! Well done man! I'm impressed and I've been playing it all weekend .. ;)

I hope it gets a few more features, I'd love to see new and different enemies evolve with new releases ..

I see a high score competition happening... should we pool together a monetary prize or a cool item for the first person to break 100,000 (or 1,000,000) with screenshot proof?

The control system I'd like:

Left nub or d-pad to move around (both active simultaneously, so you can switch)
Right nub to fire in a particular direction
"A" to fire in whichever direction your ship is facing

Would that be possible?

This game is really neat, but unfortunately I can't really play it right now because it keeps disconnecting the Wifi, and I have to reset my Pandora before I can use Wifi again. That's a bit annoying...

Uploading another update now. :D

Bugfixes:
- I *think* the wifi issue is resolved. Please report here if it still does it for you.
- Missing sound effects has been resolved (before, depending on what was going on, some sounds might not play)
- Fixed bombing-after-dying bug

Other changes/features:
- Slightly better-looking particles
- SCREENSHOTS! :D Press select at any time in-game to take a screen shot. It will be saved to the appdata folder.
- Brought dual-laser together a bit
- By default, provided it doesn't conflict with other controls, when you have a nub selected for movement or firing, you can also use the d-pad and abxy buttons for movement and firing, respectively.

Grab it here! http://repo.openpandora.org/?page=detail&app=SuperGeometryDust-23703 :)
