Hi,

I finally finished porting my static recompilation of Albion to Pandora.

Download it here:
Archive
Repo

Original Albion version 1.38 is required for playing.

Edit (25.06.2011):
Albion was updated to version 1.1.1 with the following changes:
* added vsync (using SDL library by notaz)
* swapped left and right sound channel
* fixed segfault when Krondir was fleeing battle

Edit (01.11.2011):
Albion was updated to version 1.2.0 with the following changes:
* MIDI playback using WildMIDI
  (old MIDI playback using SDL_mixer can be set in the configuration file)
* minor bug fixes

Edit (06.11.2011):
Albion was updated to version 1.2.1 with the following changes:
* fix using WildMIDI when not using alternative SDL library (by notaz)
* show the Readme in the Documentation submenu

Support for higher resolution, with nice (at least in my opinion) scalers for non-integer scaling.
Linear interpolation when playing sound samples.
A bit nicer virtual keyboard (font is scaled using scale2x algorithm).
Bug fixes.

GoG?

I you're asking if it works with GoG version, then I don't know, but I see no reason why it shouldn't.

What do the three folders inside the Albion installation have to be named? Like an idiot, I didn't copy the folders properly, and one of them wound up with a name that the engine doesn't recognize (thus not letting me play the game).

I thought there was, but I probably confused it with another gog game.

I think the folders I want are a level up. And this is for the installed game, not the raw .BIN. I also think it shares a folder with VIDEO and DEMOS.

After you install Albion in Dosbox (step 1 in my guide), this is the list of files and folders in the installation directory:

After you copy the ALBION subdirectory from CD onto harddisk (step 2 in my guide), this is the list of files and folders in the installation directory:

Thanks so much M-HT! This makes waiting for the Pandora even more excruciating.

Fired it up last night and it runs so much better than the gph versions (speed). Having the the larger res is nice too. Nice work M_HT. Looking forward to xcom ;-)

I ended up dumping every single file in the appfolder - that seems to work for me (possibly at the cost of a bit of extra free space on my SD card).

Very nice! I didn't know this game, it seems to be a real gem!

The only suggestion I'd have would be to add a vsync option please, because right now there is a lot of tearing. I don't know if it's possible for you though, but it would be really appreciated :)

Anyway, thanks a lot for this cool port! Keep up the great work! :)

edit: I think I put all the files I had on my SD card, but for some reason there is no game intro. When I launch the game I get the main menu immediately. Is it normal? Thanks!
