There same guy that did the first video of the G16 has done a second one...

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=EYQ8xZG31xk

Seems pretty nice. I wish it had a higher resolution screen, but... heck for $90, it does offer some nice features.

ruffnuts, what handhelds do you own, and when you get your G16 are you willing to do some comparisons for those of us that are still on the fence? =)

EDIT: Also found another forum for Yinlips devices.

http://yinlips-ydpg1....n4.nabble.com/

Seems to be a lot of information there.

Is it really bad a resolution of 480*272 ? The resolution of the Caanoo is smaller.
Doesn't the device run faster with a smaller screenresolution compared to the YDPG18?

The resolution isn't too bad, and yes it is higher than the Caanoo's 320x240 (minus some for the bezel overlap), I'd just prefer it to be a tad higher for playing SVGA (640x480) games that have been ported to Android, for example some later SCUMMVM compatible games, or something like DinkHD (another DOS game port). Plus, it'd be more usable for everything with a higher resolution screen.

You're right about performance though. The Mali 400 is a good GPU (surprisingly so actually... given how cheaply made most Chinese devices are), but 800x480 would put a far larger strain on the GPU and CPU, even to scale graphics to that size.

There is another player in the game : Yinlips v816. I think it's basically the same thing that YDPG16 but with 4 GB memory card with in.

Do we need 4gb internal memory in order to install apk files or not? Can you install apk files on a external sd card. I'm a bit confused.

You can install apk files on sd card in every Android OS version 2.2 or higher :)
