What are some must have games for the caanoo? Also, is there any way to get commercial fungp games anymore like asura cross for caanoo?

It is just epic. Remember to remap controls! Set it how do you want (even keep the default bottons) but just redo the setting. It's a very little bug.

There are not so many games at all, but most of them are high quality. Some examples: Adamant Armor Affection Adventure, Puzzletube, Puzsion, etc... and not to forget, the fabulous Cave Story(via ginge).

animatch is good, as for the others they sucked. cave story is good but i hate running stuff from the ginge menu so much so that i avoid it, i'd rather have it native caanoo so it's on my game list with the others, not let me open ginge, then the game...

as for logic champs, any screens besides title?

You can launch ginge games via the stock menu! ;)
It's easy, search for the guide! :D

Ian made a post like 'two new gamesī sometime ago about guru and another nice puzzle.
Search the forum as I canīt recall now, it has pictures there.

Both are great games, Iīm not found of puzzlers but guru got me hooked to no end, Iīm over level 100 now...

It is important to īpesterī developers in a good way, so if you guys think his games are good, let him know, he has a few more games that such motivation could help out him port it... go check dino defense, his last release and also a pandora rebirth entry, there is a pc version too, quite awesome, it would be great to have it on the caanoo with stylus play!

Cheers chaps :)

Yep, I am very approachable. If you want something I've done for a specific system (GP2X, Wiz, Caanoo or Pandora) then just ask. I haven't got a Caanoo or Pandora yet, but can still port and re-create for them.

thanks! any links? I assume it uses a custom ini file or something? I can't find the info...

Here an example on how to start Cave Story directly through Ginge...

1. Copy Ginge into directory /apps/ginge

File /apps/ginge.ini

[info]
name="Ginge Is Not Gp2x Emulator"
path="/ginge/ginge.gpe"
icon="/ginge/_icon.png"
title="/ginge/_title.png"
Icon & title bar for Ginge

File /apps/ginge/_icon.png Posted Image

2. Copy GP2X Cave Story into directory /game/cavestory_gp2x

3. Create a shell script ginge_cavestory.gpe and put it into directory /game/cavestory_gp2x

#!/bin/sh

/mnt/sd/apps/ginge/ginge_prep --nomenu ./doukutsu.gpe

cd /usr/gp2x/
exec /usr/gp2x/gp2xmenu

4. Create the ini file cavestory_gp2x.ini and put it into directory /game

[info]
name="Cave Story GP2X"
path="/cavestory_gp2x/ginge_cavestory.gpe"
icon="/cavestory_gp2x/_icon.png"
title="/cavestory_gp2x/_title.png"
This has a reference to the newly created Ginge script, instead of the game startup script.

5. The directory /game/cavestory_gp2x should now look like this

Directory of E:\game\cavestory_gp2x

01.04.2012  11:43    <DIR>          .
01.04.2012  11:43    <DIR>          ..
18.02.2011  17:38             1'468 _icon.png
19.02.2011  21:56            12'119 _title.png
18.08.2007  21:25             8'472 cramfs.o
01.04.2012  11:43    <DIR>          data
22.08.2007  21:37           499'712 data.cramfs
31.08.2007  09:39         2'158'552 doukutsu
18.08.2007  21:25               171 doukutsu.gpe
18.08.2007  18:54               470 doukutsu.png
19.02.2011  09:29            33'001 doukutsut.png
19.02.2011  08:54               104 ginge_cavestory.gpe
18.08.2007  18:54                65 gp2x_buttons.txt
05.09.2007  14:48             2'256 readme.txt
18.08.2007  21:25            24'972 zlib_inflate.o

              12 File(s)      2'741'362 bytes
               3 Dir(s)  917'470'425'088 bytes free
That's it. Cave Story should now appear in the Caanoo Games category. B)

You will also find an example on how to start Temper Wiz directly through Ginge in the Caanoo Emu Pack.

Important note:

All text files on the Caanoo must be in UNIX format. Use a decent editor such as Notepad++ to convert your text files to UNIX format.

As you can see, this text file is already in UNIX format.

Notepad++ is also available on Portable Apps. My favorite editor is UltraEdit, but it's not freeware.
