so does this new version of mame4all use a different romset as the previous one, or does it play more roms? Is it just minor things? please explain. The notes don't do a very good job.

That's what the 'whatsnew' says:

MAME4ALL 2.7 (30/04/2012)
-------------------------
- Some assembly optimizations.
- WIZ: Sometimes MMU-HACK was not activated. Solved with wARM v2.
- CAANOO: No more lock-ups when exiting.
- CAANOO: Added wARM v2. Thanks to Notaz.

Doesn't look like support for a different romset, but maybe some games run faster.

There is definitely a speed increase. Moonwalker now runs perfectly overclocked to 800mhz and with frameskip set to 1. Could never get it running smoothly before.

Can someone comment on how well Pcsx4all works now, compared to the current Pcsx rearmed?

I don't always trust my testing abilities.

Well, I just tested Croc on the new release of PCSX4All and... All I can say is, it's still faster on PCSX Rearmed.

The lack of control costumisation and very little amount of settings you can change makes this emulator kind of not worth it when compared to PCSX Rearmed, however, it is nice to see them come back and make an update, and perhaps one day we might actually get a much, much better Playstation emulator!

I find FF7 running better on this emulator. However you can't choose to overclock between 700 and 750Mhz. Could this be fixed ? (My Caanoo frezze over 740Mhz :(

Thanks for the release !

The game looks more fluid during combat. During exploration
The framerate is perfect.
