Mazezam For The Gp2X

The simple objective is to reach the exit by pushing, not pulling, the rows of connected blocks which bar your way.
There are 39 levels to play through, ranging from the simple to brain-dessicating. Most of these were created by Malcolm but 8 of them are my own.
The game can be downloaded from the GP2X archive here:

Feedback always welcome.

Unfortunately I do not have access to an f200 and I had not even heard of Open2X until reading your post.
Having done a quick search on it all I have so far come across is that there are 'certain incompatabilities.'
Not much help really.
Hopefully this issue will be resolved in time.

Having a Pandora for more than a year now, i forgot that Open2X have a compatibility tool, and with this the game run fine, only exiting is not working we must turn off the console, but is very nice game.
Do you intend to pubblish the sources ? Maybe i could port it to Pandora or Caanoo.

I am already working on porting it over to the Caanoo & Pandora, so expect to see these versions soon.

I gave a go on the caanoo.
Did an .ini file for it too, which I´m uploading here.
The console freezes on loading screen. Tried twice.

- got a black screen first on first try
- tried to capture any output from the program
- found out the shell script MazezaM.gpe is in DOS format
- converted script to UNIX format
- program starts now, but hangs at GLASS FRACTAL SOFTWARE logo
Hope this helps.

Erico - as soon as I have the wiz version running correctly I shall look at the Caanoo specifically.
YD - oops! A last minute edit of the .gpe file on a Windows machine and I used Wordpad.
Attched is a slightly re-jigged version for testing.
Many thanks in advance.

- it passes the GFS logo
- it displays the game start menu screen
- but it does not respond to any buttons (power cycle necessary)
It also generates a log file ErrorLog.txt in the root directory of the SD card...

Thanks YD.
I have attached a new version which simply skips the wait for a keypress at the title screen.
Hopefully the game should at least work after that.
Thanks for your patience,
Kian

- it passes the GFS logo
- it displays the game start menu screen quickly
- the game starts and it's playable !
- d-pad, select and start buttons work
- played the first 3 levels to test
The background pattern seems a bit too dark (or maybe incomplete). Difficult to see the difference between pattern and empty black space. We call this "black hawk on black background".
Interesting game. Looking forward to the next (final?) version.
Thanks for your work.
EDIT: L+R skips the level. Number 39 seems to be pretty tough.

You might well be right.
>played the first 3 levels to test
Great.
At least that clears up what wasn't working.
>background pattern seems a bit too dark
On my f100 it seemed a little too much when it was brighter.(Maybe that's just me)
>Thanks for your work.
...and yours.
>Number 39 seems to be pretty tough.
Oh yes, indeed!
I shall upload a (hopefully) complete version when I get home this evening.
