I heard that there is a version of the ps3 that can play and save ps2 games. which version is that? Im asking for a ps3 for christmas so I can get ultimate ninja storm 2 which is only for ps3, but I also want to get the first kingdom hearts..but it says its only for ps2...what ps3 can play ps2 games?

Only the fat PS3 (original) plays PS2 games. The backward compatibility was removed when the thin versions were released. "Other OS" was removed via an update, but you could still play PS2 games on the Fat.

Be warned - Fat PS3s are really getting on in age nowadays - you won't be able to buy a new one and their reliability is iffy.
