I'm thinking about grabbing this, and maybe also Super Famicom wars, but there is a possibility that they are Japanese only (famicom is the japenese name for NES after all). So is it available in english at all?

Thanks for your help =)

Well usually rom patches are legal to distribute. If you have them it would be extra 1337 of you.

There is no translation for Famicom Wars as yet, but there really is no storyline and it is easy to memorize where all the stuff is. A Super Famicom Wars patch was under development and hasn't been finished or released yet.

How do you make a patch for a rom anyway?

theres some program called IP Patcher, you just use that and it adds whatever changes were made to the rom.

Famicom Wars 0.75a English Patch

You will need this to patch it.

There is one being worked on for super famicom wars but its not available and there is one for famicom wars which I didn't like that much the patch could have been done better but its ok. Both of those games arn't nearly as good as advanced wars so don't expect them to be a replacment for that. If that is what you're looking for get military madness on the pc engine its realyy really good.

On Gamefaqs there is a menu translation FAQ here which should suffice. I have been playing this little gem all day but it still not a touch on Advance Wars but near enough, for the time being ;)
