Did you install a NAND locking patch? Uninstall that first if you did.

Hmm... did you upgrade the firmware (.img file), or are you just trying to upgrade the software (.gpu file)?

also make sure not to uncompress the patch.. you need the patch executible and the patch compress file. if you have it uncompressed to the trhee folders you will get that error.

wait i don't get it. I am using stuffit to unzip the file and i get three things. A folder an image file and the gpu file. Which should stay zipped?

you should get tar.gz file not a folder. I think your unzipper is unzipping that aswell.

Read the GP2X User Guide to get an idea -
http://archive.gp2x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,23,933There is no need to unzip the files just put them in the root directory of your SD card and switch on. Then run the patch from the utility menu... et voila'

OK OK [my bad]
unzip gp2x-f100_1.4.0_060217.zip
and you get: -
gp2xkernel.img
gp2xpatch-1.4.0.gpu
gp2xpatch-1.4.0.tar.gz
place these files in the root of the SD card... and switch on then run 'gp2xpatch-1.4.0.gpu' from the utility menu.
[BUT having read the whole topic I guess you knew this already - so I'll shut up
