Why would you want to emulate DOSBox?

The OS on the GP2X is Linux. It will run on the GP2X, however it is slow.
Dr.Feelgood
so any program that runs on linux that i download will run on the gp2x?
Dr.Feelgood
and also i want to emlate dos box because with it u can play such classics as doom duke nukem blood and so forth
namco

Not exactly, they will need altering to work with the GP2X's hardware.
Also most binaries will be for x86 processors, so the programs will need to be compiled for the ARM processor in the GP2X.

Dos Box has already been ported:

Also, use the search function for the forums. I remember there being some interesting threads about optimizing dosbox for various old dos games.
craigix
Doom is also already on the GP2x.
Dr.Feelgood
I realize doom is already ported and so is quake a nd duke nukem but i am having trouble getting those to work so i was just asking about dos emulation because that would have been easier to just run them through an emulator.. sorry about not putting that in my original post that was a stupid mistake sad.gif
Ravnos
First of all, it would be a pain in the ass to run them through an emulator. Second, it would be incredibly slow.
Dr.Feelgood
How so? If it just ran like a normal emulator wouldnt it be fine i mean people are working on a psx emu i just thought dos would be kinda easy

Nope. DosBox would be an absoute last resort. You are better off just trying to get the gp2x ports to work rather than using a Dos emulator.
OmarNawaz
what problemsa re you having runing quake nukem and doom?
