QUOTE
I have gathered some popular gp2x files off the archives (some are a little old) into a torrent.
You can get it here
I probably won't be online to seed until sunday though, and the tracker appears to be offline. If someone can test it I'll be online for a few more minutes...

The test (gp2x.torrent 0.1b?) with Sonistar was successful! Thanks smile.gif
Sonistar
ill have a go dude

EDIT - okay its downloading okay, although at like 1.5 kb a second ^-^
Aninhumer
Thanks, if it suddenly fails, it means my parents have found me up at 11:18pm.
Sonistar
HAHA someone just got caught! ^-^ awesome
Aninhumer
No that was just me fiddling...
Sonistar

Epicenter
ED said the issue was the HDD being full, not overloaded by too many clients. last I checked. I doubt most people will really want to download from a torrent when they just need some very specific things-- and there is no high-speed seeder or large number of peers to support such a torrent. Torrents are really better suited for rapid distribution of a trendy large file.
Sonistar
i downloaded it dude, worked fine , go to sleep now ^-^

I think it would be great to have a beginners torrent.

We could put all the best programs that you would imagine would be contained on a starter CD. Updated once every month or so.

Then have the torrent topic pinned.

I've got a 1mbit upload and would be happy to keep it seeded.

Thats probably what I was going to do, what do you suggest as "the best programs"?
Some are more obvious: DrMDx, squidgesnes, MAME etc. but which of the homebrew games/applications/skins?

And if I make one, it will probably be after easter as I'm getting broadband then.

these are all good. gnuboy would be another good emulator. We could add some free roms to that.

From games, I'd add Urquan masters, because it's impressive and doesn't require the original game. There a quite a few good homegrew.... just download all the ones with the most downloads and the highest ranking. That's what rankings is for anyway.

For homebrew: Vektar, TileMatch and Beat2X.

Bump

I changed the topic post, but that doesn't bump it on it's own.

Another vote for GNUBoy and DrMDx.
deadlychicken22
well, i would prefer to just use the archive, but if people want a torrent I guess that's cool.... here are my votes:
GNUboy - one of the best emulators around
DrMDX - the best emulator around
vektar - wow. this is what all homebrew games should strive to be (although generally I prefer story-based games)
beat2x - well, i wish there were background animations, but other than that it is perfect
tilematch - duh!
rockdodger - no one ever mentions it but I just cannot get enough!
extraterrestres tongue.gif - this is my own homebrew game.... shouldn't count as a real vote wink.gif
Goity
Drmdx,
The Puzzle Bobble clone.... Frozen2x i think it's called, or maybe that's another game...
Goitfights tongue.gif
The Fenix Runtime
Maybe the Fenix Game Collection? I'm pretty sure I have a lot of my own games in there too wink.gif
