Maybe if we all PM'ed him he might think of making it for the GP2X?

Somebody else PM'd him and he said that he was going to buy a GP2X and port it. We haven't heard from him since.

That sucks because it was my favorite game on the GP32 and I wanted to play it on the Gp2X because my GP32 is broken beyond repair.

When I had a GP32 this game was always on my smartmedia card and the best part is that you can download characters that you want to be.

I hope not too long... SmashGP was one of the greatest crowning jewels of the GP32 homebrew game scene (as distinct from the emulator bit of it) - alongside Giana Sisters, GPWars and many many more I've forgotten already (unfortunately). One of the most professional pieces of work I've ever seen, and easily commercial quality.
I'm *really* looking forward to this...

I think it might take him a week or two to port it. Just a guess though.

Above all I was more amazed by the software scaling that was carried out in smashgp. It's a shame it's closed source though, because that scaling was super fast

It looks pretty cool... Now all we have to do is dev a Castlevania homebrew game to fully push the GP2X's 2D capabilities...

I've actually been thinking about making a homebrew game like Castlevania.... however, I don't think I know enough programming to do it yet, so I'm going to try a couple other things before I attempt it.

mATkEUpon just wanted to know what your progress on this is. I just cant wait! I dont mean to be bothersome though. This would be THE best game for GP2X in my opinion.

The source code was never released ot the public. If it was it probaly would have already been ported to the GP2X. I hope that there will be no limit to the amount of characters that you can use and unlimited page support.
EDIT: I hope that he is almost done with porting it

nope... It would actually help a bit... Just try and give it a different name to not totally rip it off... Something like "2xSmashOut" or something...
