i've never seen a GP2x, much less opened it, but does anyone think it's possible?

it would allow people to connect pads and sticks to a GP2x, even though it would be somewhat impractical. if/when the GP2x starts getting output converters to a TV, a DB15 connection will be golden.

i have a DB15 + project box joystick system that, with some amount of wor, will make many of my sticks work with any game system... ever. this will be a natural extension of that system.

and exactly... i don't think the USB pads and sticks are supported yet, so i think wiring directly to the controls will be better for current apps.

Thing is though... How many people are going to break open there 2X to solder a DB15 to the sticks connections? I doub't many would want to do that, and the others would probably not want the DB15 sticking out of the 2X.

However, connecting a USB joystick to the ext port means no opening of the 2X, and no modification, so far more practical. Someone just has to write some drivers...

I agree. GPH is going to put those drivers in the next firmware anyway. So all you would need to do is get a Bob box. That is a lot easier anyway than soldiering all this crap into the GP2X.

Even if gph do include the drivers, all the software will have to be upgraded to support it.
