So, in the middle of typing, you realized that you were about to post the topic on the wrong board ... but did so anyway. Genius.

There is a 8gb sd card coming out soon. And 32Gb is 8GB if Im not mistaken.
Magnulus
On the issue of capacity, though, SDHC has a potential capacity of up to 32GB (yes, it's true.) but since the Gippex only supports regular SD cards (and not even those 100% proper) that's out of the question.

And regular SDs are reported to have a max limit of 4.

1 Gb = 1/8 GB so 32Gb would indeed be 4GB

Sorry, that's just what I call it when I talk about it and in chats and things, because I find GP2X to be such a mouthful and also pretty darn formal. I just thought Gippex sounded cute and silly, so it kinda stuck. I sometimes slip up here in the forums.
OmarNawaz
just connect a ipod or similar device to gp2x and bob's your uncle (who the hell is bob anyway?)

thats the cool thing about the GP2X USB HOST

EDIT: Mhhhh soldering skills will be needed unless you splash out on the BOB (wait i see a accidental pun hiding there)

I'm going to take a wild guess and say hot pointy objects STAY AWAY

Can you imagine the threads we'll see

OMG I BURNT A HOLE THROUGH MY GP2X WHY DOESNT WORKK!!!

I'd like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize to STravers for that unwarranted attack. I assumed (wrongly) that you were just another annoying user who didn't read the other dozen+ topics about this same subject before posting.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled topic.

I can. Ha. It's called a bob + hard drive.
Winterkid
How portable can the 2X be with the bob and the portable HD and all the other stuff attached to it? You'll need a breifcase for it all... *scratches head*

Gippex? In conversation, once they realise it's called the GP2X, I just call it the 2X, which comes out as "Tooex".

What's auto post-merging?

Will this merge..?

Yep, it did!

Really? And they're regular SDs, not HCSD (or SDHC or whatever)? I thought they reached the wall 4 gigs. Proves me wrong, then.

MMmmm. Think of all the homebrew that can be stored on an 8gb sd

Devote yourself.

The Gmini is the God-in-your-pocket device. Built-in camera now, woohoo! Seriously, for video/audio on the go, Archos owns. Get the AV500 series if you want the bigger screen (believe me, those screens look small, but they are amazingly satisfying when you actually sit down to watch a movie on them.)

100 Gigs of movies in your pocket, anyone??? Hmm??

But not everyone has $700+ to spend on something like that.

$700?! The fattest flagship AV700 model is > $600
http://www.compuplus.com/i-Archos-100GB-AV...ck=searchViewed

The supersleek GMini 402 is just over $300
http://www.compuplus.com/i-Archos-GMini-40...ck=searchViewed

?!

I've long been an advocate of HD-based handhelds, they simply give the goods. The only reason I got my GP was because it does emulation so well. If the PMA 400, my first love, had the horsepower it ought to have had, the GP would be moot (but I am really happy with it, regardless).
