I am still waiting for the arrival of my gp2x mkII.
Just wonder if there is any good carry case besides the official one by GPH.
Anyone care to share?
Thanks!

I heard that some specific DS cases are quite good for the GP2X... someone can probably name an exact brand/case, but I can't.

I use the GP32 case, AstonishiaStoryR. It fits perfectly with the exception of the plastic envelope, which was always awkward even for the GP32.

the official gp2x case is not very good once you try and start fitting everything in... usb cable, more batteries, Tv out cable.. etc.
some kind of video camera case would be good... big, can fit gp2x and everything you want in it, usb cable, tv out cables, loads of batteries, charger, AC adapter, breakout box, headphones, etc.

it doesn't even really accept extra AA batteries. and if you put them in the mesh pocket, you have to close the case with the open front end tilted down so they don't mash against the stick.
i was using the PSP sleeve (the one that comes with the unit) that a friend found in an apartment lounge 'free pile' before i got the Official case..

I use this exact case:

same color and all. It works great as it holds the 2x, batteries, clothe, and my 4 SD cards (all of which are kept in a special keychain SD case that clips shut

I bought the official case when I purchased my unit thinking I could carry my TVout cable/sdcards/extra batteries in the top compartment as well.......yup I was completely wrong about that
At present I'm using a GBA SP Travel Case I got on amazon.com last year.
GBA SP TRAVEL CASE I was dissapointed when I got it because I thought it was a hip model w/o additional storage. When I got it It looked more NDS sized w/2 loops for a gba and carts in the bottom of the case. Since I had a gba and a supercard it was just too big/unwieldy for everyday carrying. So it got thrown into my electronics/game stuff drawer and was forgotten.
However, For travelling with my GP2X its ideal. The GP2x slips right into the elastics on the bottom covered by a microfibre cleaning cloth. In the top nylon mesh zippered compartment I carry 2 sets of extra batteries/a 6 SD card zippered case (3.00 at walmart)/Sony Earbuds/and my 3.00 Card Reader/thumb drive. In the space betwen the unit/cleaning cloth and the nylon pocket I carry a 12' RCA Cable /svideo adapter/Tvout cable-all connected and spooled/ the tyed with a velcro computer cable organizer. Its a wee bit tight when zipping and feels like a brick when closed; but I got all my gear on the road.
For everyday carrying, Im using a Handspring Visor Neoprene slip case I got with a lot of broken visors on ebay; when I was building a few units for coworkers several years ago.
Handspring Visor Neoprene Slip Case It was a tight fit at first, but since the neoprene is stretchy and closes w/velcro its workable and its got a belt loop- I found the unit slips down into it nicely with the joystick exposed when the flap is open, and the velcro flap folds over and protects that. I cut an oversized hole in the side so I could attatch headphones when closed and accomodate the earphone flap. Its reasonably water shedding, has a belt loop and takes alot of beating. I could do with out the blaze yellow though.

I use a Nintendo DS strap case. Very nice

It has rrom for all the necesseties. But I mainly just carry my GP2X and some extra batteries. It has a nice long strap that I put around my shoulder and carry it that way.
YEAH I carry it around like a fanboy and proud of it

I carry that thing everywhere, with my DS or PSP depending on how long a trip Im taking.
Couldn't find a picture of it but o well you get the idea.

I use two cases:
*
One made for DS which looks nice and you can put your gp2x along with set of 4 spare batteries, SD card and USB cable but the cases's schackle is untrustworthy. Fortunately the belt mount is durable enough.
*
my hip-bag which is more comfortable and you can put way more into it but looks very... strange

Play-Asia was out of GP2X cases so...
I will use either my 'official' GBA case, or my dollar store GBA case, whichever one works better. Both are grey. The 'official' one has a zip pouch for accessories and a velcro pouch for the console. The dollar store one has a mesh compartment for accessories and the whole thing zips up.

Astonishia Story GP32 case. It has an annoying transparent plastic bit in it which I plan on massacring at some point, but it fits my 4 pairs of AAs, headphones, two spare joystick caps and GP2X in it just fine.

Here is the case I use for my GP32, which could probably also be used for a GP2X

The GP32 is a bit too long for the flap, so I just made a double-sided velcro extension thing. Works pretty well. Even though you can't carry any extra items in it, this is one of the only cases that fit into most pockets since the GP32 fits in it almost perfectly (except for the length).
Edit: Oh, I forgot. This is a $1 Targus case that you can find at Walmart.

I use a simple GBA case I got a while back. It has a pocket large enough to fit the GP2X, and a smaller sub-pocket I could carry the tv-out cable or some batteries or something along those lines in. It's nice, although it usually goes into some type of larger carrying item like my backpack, making it a little less useful.

I got the official Nintendo DS case and removed the Nintendo logo that was stiched on.
Then I cut the plastic that was made to fit the DS buttons until I could slip the bottom of the GP2X into it fine.
It was really really nice actually $10 at Target I think. Radio Shack had a nice bigger case for $3 on sale, it looked almost big enough for two GP2Xii and it would be great for Wifi or a battery to power the wifi, etc.
I liked my DS official case though, it was very sleek and square.

Mental Note... don't lend anything to Crazy Goat.
I was thinking of buying a case for the 2X, but I'm wondering if there are any with straps for it. *ponders* The TARGUS one JaqMs posted that was at Walmart sounded good AND inexpensive. Could also buy one for the GP32 while I'm at it. Doesn't seem to have room for much else though, besides just the unit, and maybe an extra SMC card though.
They do sell cases for GBA and DS across the street, I wonder if any of them might be an ideal solution, but they tend to charge a small fortune for accessories like that.

What do you mean by a strap? Over the shoulder? Wrist strap on the case? Wrist strap for the GP2X? Straps to hold it into the case so you can play it while it stays in the case?
The Nintendo DS official one I was using had a nice strap that tucked away and was stiched to the case, and then I could pull it out and it stuck out the zipper at the end. Pretty cool.
Edit, those $1 are too small and don't protect anything, except maybe scratches, as it is open though, dust and dirt can still blow in and scratch it, you are completely screwed if you drop it too, it is only a "sack", no padding.
And, maybe you need a strapless

Only with a purse, and only for you. Shave my back hair for me?
*laugh* You opened the door, you face the horror.
No, a strap for the carrying case, like a wrist strap, but a bit thicker. A case with no padding to absorb impact doesn't seem very practical, yeah. I don't tend to drop things a lot, but you never know.

I have the official case, and honestly the only really good point about
it is the fact it has the GP2X logo on it.
Its not a perfect fit, and while it does have extra room to store
things like batteries and earphones they can pretty much float
around free if you dont cram the stuff in the little pouch. And there
is no protection for the GP2X from anything else you might put in the
case.
I think i will buy a standard (as in non-lite) DS case, probably an
'unofficial' one so i dont have the DS logo or a pic of mario to confuse
me when i have both my DS and GP2X in my bag.

ZViewItem]all use this one[/url] for carrying cases. Has 2 pockets, room for a few SD cards in cases and spare batteries. Does what we need it to.

Edit: Updated link.
If it expires search eBay for seller "nate.gamers" and text "Gamecase Carrying Case for Nintendo DS GBC GBA NEOGEO" at last look.
Edit: I started carrying my PSP around with my GP2X and they both fit in this case - one system on each side. It's a bit snug but it doesn't crush them together. I like this case more every time I use it.

Yea any GBA or DS Case is perfect. I have a slightly larger (kinda a small camera type) GBA bag, and it could hold my gp2x, gba, sp, etc. and games and loads of batteries. But for my gp2x I bought a DS case (can't find a pic of it) and it holds headphones, 4 batteries, and even my tv out cable (but that requires alot of stuffin). Just get a good sized case and you'll be fine, but dont use the official one!

Couldn't find anything nice&cheap in local stores (eg. MediaMarkt) so I turned to eBay again: I have just received this case:
It has a nice strong shell and extra room for batteries and things. It also sports 2 types of belt clips.

A real bargain for US $0.69 (new). Even with shipping cost added (to the Netherlands), it was only EUR 4,96.
