So are these things still available from anywhere? I was planning on ordering from gp2x.de as soon as the mk1 units were back in stock, but now the item is no longer listed.

I thought that was the case, but I became concerned because once it was listed as 'out of stock,' which would lead to that obvious conclusion. Since then however, the listings were entirely removed making me wonder if DaveC was indeed making more.

I just got my modded GP2X back and it's brilliant. I had problems with diagonals and moving left was always a struggle but now it's completely responsive. The pad actually feels more natural than the buttons

I'm very happy with this mod. Many thanks to both ED and DaveC. Also: it looks better in real life than it does in the picture.

There is going to be massive demand for these... looks sweet and removes the final annoyance with these otherwise fantastic systems.

Ed - can we pre-order?

PS Time for a sweep-stake. Given that GPH started using caps not dissimilar to DaveC's once they proved popular, when do you think GPH will start making new systems with a D-Pad.

I hope those D-pads are better than my DS Lite one. IE, that can make diagonals without any problem. The DS Lite on is ok for anything that don't require Diagonal except that when you need diagonals.. its pain in the ass.

Just got mine back from ED, and it really is MUCH better than the Firstedition stick

Did they mod your First Edition GP2x? I though the mod was only for 2nd edition GP2xs.

The Mod exists for both, however, the First Edition Mods were sold out within a day

I just wanted to say that I successfully ordered mine over 10 days ago but only just put my GP2X in the post. The problem is that I live in Thailand at the moment so it may take another 10 days or so to arrive. I'm sure this is fine but I just wanted to check that you weren't selling any more mods than you had! (for example, if my gp2x took forever to turn up then you'd cancel my order and sell the mod to the next customer).


PS - Although I'm currently in Thailand, I gave a UK address for the return address as I'll be returning next month.

PPS - My GP2X is the one with the 'interesting' case! (my girlfriend knitted it for me) :P:P:P
