Quick question: can the GP2X take a regular AC adapter such as this one or do I need the official one? Because I seem to have misplaced mine and don't feel like spending $$$ on another...
I'm currently stuck with fw 2.0 so that's why I'm asking >_<

Yes any universal adapater will work, provided is has the correct size pin and you set the voltage and polarity correctly

Mate just nip down to argos, they sell loads of universal adapters. Plus that way you save on postage and you dont have to wait for it to arrive
Infact i'll have a quick look on the argos website for you then edit this post with a link.

Theres a couple other similar ones on that page and slightly cheaper, either of them should be perfect
If you hunt around though im sure you can find similar cheaper. Either way you got an idea now of what to be looking for.

Just whatever you do, dont go getting the settings on the masterplug wrong or your gp2x will melt and fire streamers into the air and call forth the mighty behelzebub from his dark demonic lair and format most of your pornographic material. You want 3V and the word Tip to be lined up with the "-" on the end bit.
Also, get a regulated voltage power adaptor, some of the unregulated ones vary too widely for the GP2X and could fry it.
When I ordered my 2x from Play-Asia I was dumb and got the Korean power adapter. So I just looked through some adapters and after a while of just fooling around I read the back of the slim ps2 power supply and the end piece is the right voltage and it also fits the part that connects to the gp2x. So thats my power adapter for ya
