i was wondering if you could take the thumbstick out of your gp2x and replace it with one from a ps2 joypad. they look and feel way better than the one thats built into the gp2x... blink.gif

I doubt it as a PS2 joystick is analog and gp2x is digital. You may be able to remove the cap from a PS2 joystck and adapt it to fit the GP2X one though.

i thought as it was a better built and was doing the same job , that it was just a matter of swaping 1 for the other....pity as it feels so smooth to move compared to the gp2x 1..... unsure.gif

Nope. Inner hardware is highly different.

You could easily dismantle a PS2 gamepad, take off the joystick and use its cap on the GP2X's shaft, though. I'm not sure how well this would work due to the shape, but it's worth a shot.

I recently tried pulling off my 2X cap to see if I could make a joystick mod or something but accidentally highered the main thing under the cap(on the system itself) and I dont know how to get it back to normal. The good thing is it kinda feels more like a ps2 joystick now, which is easier for me since The playstation2 used to be te main thing I would play every day...I guess I got used to it.

It would be awesome if the ps2 stick would fit. But I think I will just have to order a cap for it.
