I just saw these GPS units on engadget and I couldn't help but think that something looked a bit familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it. Then I realised.

Infact I'm pretty sure it's exactly the same logo but with the 2 reversed.
So does anyone have any idea what the origins of the 2 logos are? If the gp2x used the gps logo then it would explain the 'X' being in a different font. Or maybe it's just a generic font.

The P's different too... but it could well be the same typeface (apart from that).

Its a pretty generic font - I mean, if you wanted to come up with some sort of spacey/modern wide font, wouldn't your result look quite similar? Pretty sure mine would. I think they came up with the same thing seperately and accidentally.
