I have a gp2x mk1 does anyone know a guide or something into rotating the joystick youself like the new mk2 is?

I doubt it's possible.
Completely possible, but if you can't turn it 45°, glue it down (2-part Epoxy or JB Weld or Extra strength Hot-Glue), and reconnect those little tiny solder traces, then a Guide won't help you.
Basically the tiny size of the soldering involved makes it hard to do if you aren't into very fine soldering, maybe I should rotate my MK1, then it might sell (Yes, I see you tgg
