What is the negatives in using the latest firmware and what is the latest firmware version? Thanks

3.0.0 - slower bootup time than 2.x.x series firmware

No, at least not with my GP2x.

Once I upgraded to 2.1.0, (or maybe it was 2.1.1) I could no longer mount my GP2X via USB. It looks like my PC doesn't even notice my GP2X anymore.

This happens in Ubuntu and Windows XP

You can't fix that, as that's a battery issue wink.gif
Each battery has a different curve how it loses power.
And the light simply goes on if the voltage goes below a certain value.

So it's not possible, to make that the same for all kinds of batteries.
