I have a gp2x mk1 firmware 2.0.0 and the red battery light comes on too soon seems like, becuase when the battery status when i look in the gp2x menu goes half ways/medium the light goes on, but it just stays on for a long time until at least couple hours later when the batterys finally die.

Is this normal on some gp2x's or is it a firmware version issue? tHanks...

The battery indicator never really worked well in any GP2X's.
Don't worry, it's not your unit.

Could just be the batteries you have. The red light is probably measuring the voltage off your batteries and yours might drop below the "low battery" threshold and hold there for a long time. If you try different batteries do you get the same problem?

Aki is right though. The indicator never really worked right.
